President Barack Obama will no longer be in the White House at the end of this week. We’ve literally only got a couple of days left before Donald Trump is inaugurated. Rapper 2 Chainz was definitely bummed out, specifically because he never got the invite to the White House, though many of his peers did.
J. Cole, Ludacris, Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper and dozens more got invites to personally meet the POTUS at the White House. In an Instagram video, 2 Chainz lets it be known that he wanted to be on that list, but was simply never invited. The video was captioned, “Slick in my feelings 😆 .. I’m not political I’m just practical.”
“So I usually just leave a lot of sh*t to myself, but…I wanted to go to the White House and never got invited,” he said to the camera, in between smoking a blunt. “I seen all them beautiful pics of everybody going to all these parties. I just wanted to say what’s up to Barack. We all came from a troubled past, but I seen him giving people some really big chances. But anyway, that happened and I’m cool with that.”
In addition, he even addressed the fact that Trump’s people were trying to get him on the phone to convince him to perform at the inauguration. But, he said no to that one.
“So then Trump calls management, I know they’re only doing this because they can’t get anyone else. And they want me to perform for the inauguration,” Chainz said. “I had to say nah. No matter how much money it was. I probably won’t be going to the White House no time soon. That’s why I was trying to go then.”
On Monday, January 16th, 2 Chainz posted a photo of rappers and singers in the Oval Office with Obama. He once again expressed a bit of disappointment, but was cool about it. “didn’t make this one either !?” he wrote. “back to my trap raps ! Congrats on everyone else tho no hate.”
2 Chainz has been busy in the studio cooking up a new album, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, which should be dropping April 7th.
