Is Ben Affleck Done With Batman?

San Diego Comic Con is going down right now as we speak. Ben Affleck will be dropping by this weekend to promote Justice League. There has been a lot of talk about his solo Batman film. The project is now in the hands of War of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves. And they apparently dumped Ben’s script and concept for the film, going in a new direction.

Well there’s some talk that WB is looking to go even further in a new direction by edging out Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman all together. At least according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Warners Bros film studio chief Toby Emmerich tells The Hollywood Reporter, “Ben is our Batman. We love him as Batman. We want to keep him in the cowl as long as we can.” However, THR has a “source” that claims the studio is looking for a way to usher the actor out of the series, in a “graceful” manner.

In addition, they’ll be “addressing the change in some shape or form in one of the upcoming DC films.” Reeves apparently wants to make a trilogy, and that could very well happen. But would Affleck then be too old for the role? Since the studio wants to go in a different direction apparently, that may be the case. But who knows! None of this is being confirmed by WB or Ben Affleck or Reeves.
