Just a brief recap of some of the best moments from last night’s BET Hip-Hop Awards.
“All glory to God,” Lamar said. “This award right here, right now, mean more than anything. With that being said, I promise you this: as long as you keep music in your heart, in your soul, no matter what type of style, flow, beat, or creativity, I guarantee you, it’s one of those things that will always bring us together in this room. We right here for a reason, because of music.”
Desiigner’s performance at the BET Awards earlier this year is still memorable. So he had to outdo himself, and he might’ve done so with his performance of “Tiimy Turner” at the Hip-Hop Awards. He even had a choir helping him out on stage.

This is the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther party. So everybody was dressed in black. T.I. has already been releasing music videos touching on this topic. It continued with his live performance of “We Will Not.” Big K.R.I.T. delivered a powerful spoken word piece.
We always gotta have a cypher. But the standout this year definitely seems to be Young M.A. She already got millions of views on YouTube for her music video for “Ooouuu.” But this BET Hip-Hop Awards performance has brought her to the next level.
Kendrick also got to present Snoop with this award. “He mastered the game through tests and challenges that earned him the respect of a college professor, except his game came from the streets,” Kendrick said of Snoop. “He put me on game, so I would avoid the same pitfalls. … Snoop Dogg was the god and continues to be so.”
Snoop also had something to say to the young generation of rappers. “Y’all are misunderstood. Keep pushing, stay original. Hip-hop is taking you many places. You have to live with who you are. I’m loving how y’all are unifying people.”
