This Fantastic Flop just continues to crash and burn at the box office, this is going to go down in history as legendary, sadly. We’ll get to that later.
As it turns out Straight Outta Compton is doing very, very well, during its 2nd week at the box office, pulling in $26,760,000 and still being number one. A 50% audience drop from last week, however domestically it has $111,483,000. So this is very much a success.
Dropping to number 2 this week is Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. It brought in $11,700,000 this weekend with a worldwide box office total of $438,563,000. And they are going to be producing a 6th film. This series ain’t over by a longshot. The sequel to Sinister, Sinister 2, opened at #3 this week with $10 million. Did not hear a whole lot of good reviews for the movie.
Hitman: Agent 47, the sequel to a video game movie that absolutely no one was asking for, debuted at #4 with $8.2 million. With The Man From U.N.C.L.E. coming in at #5 with $7 million at the box office. American Ultra debuted at #6 with $5 million.
But what happened to Fantastic Four? Well, that fell all the way down to #10 this weekend. Losing nearly 1500 theaters, the movie grossed a lousy $3.6 million. There are not enough ways to say or spell the word flop at this point. But it only makes me laugh harder.
