“Friday The 13th” TV Show…On The CW

Friday The 13th

It seems that this new trend of recreating horror film properties on the small screen is catching on. MTV’s Scream apparently is doing well. And now The CW wants some of that action, cuz it ain’t enough to have probably the best superhero show on TV, next to Daredevil. (The Flash). The teen girl friendly network is getting ready for a Friday the 13th TV series, CW president Mark Pedowitz confirmed Tuesday at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour. Jason on the CW, y’all. I mean…yeah, sure, why not, whatever.

It’s going to be sort of a horror/crime show (crime?) and would revive the famous serial killer Jason Vorhees, and hails from The Pretender creators Steve Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle, who will be writing the script for the pilot. The 2 will also serve as exec producers for the CBS Television Studios entry alongside Sean Cunningham, Randall Emmett, George Furla and Mark Canton.

Well, then. You will be getting yet another horror-movie TV adaptation. Friday The 13th, though? Does anyone still care about that franchise? I believe the first movie came out 35 years ago…
