Ice-T Heads First Art of Rap Festival with The Game, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

Missed out on Cochella? Ice-T will be putting on the first ever Art of Rap Festival for one weekend in northern and southern California. “Hip hop isn’t some fad, it’s a culture, a lifestyle,” says Ice-T. “To celebrate it and to honor it myself and Mickey Benson got a few of our friends together for one weekend to give you your festival. The Art of Rap Festival.”

The idea for the festival was inspired by Ice’s “Art of Rap” documentary and will take place July 18th in Irvine. On the 19th the show will move up to Mountain View so music fans across the entire state of California can show up to the party.

“This year’s art of rap is a mix of the greats. East and West. North and South. Old school and new school,” continues Ice-T. Indeed the line-up is packed full of great acts. Guests include The Game, Bone Thugs -N- Harmony, Ice T, Afrika Bambaataa, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim,  Xzibit, Warren G, Rapper’s Delight, Kurtis Blow, Too Short, DJ Quik, Kool Moe Dee, King T, Grand Master Melle Mel, Tha Alkaholiks, Biz Markie and many more. With so many acts, it seems like a great bang for your buck if you’re going to be anywhere in California this summer.
