Kid-Ro – “New Keisha” #TheIndieBooth

Kid-Ro, a West Side Chicago (K-Town to be exact) born and raised hip hop artist, is a talented songwriter and visionary who may have grew up in the inner city but his reach is international with his mainstream, upbeat, New age hip hop-inflected sound. Aside from developing his buzz worthy brand #BlackParadise and putting on show’s for artists, Kid-Ro is on a non-stop grind planning to shell out consistent new music and visuals for all of 2017.

The single New Keisha showcases Kid-Ro’s original sound and disparate genres into one entrancing whole. Various urgently sawed strings start off the number, which is then lifted up by a rapid beat and eventual introduction of bright, high-flying electronic notes, swiftly plucked harpsichord lines, and even sweetly poignant horn pulls, that bring the instrumental to a triumphant, symphonic and electronic close. Kid-Ro comes in on the verse, talking in a direct tone. As the build up sweeps in, Kid-Ro’s vocals lift into a passionate register as he declares, “Heaven On Earth, Ask me what its worth, blood in the church…..heard they said i got the wave, but i never ever try to surf”.
