And the Queen B stings again. Making this her third debut on the cover of Vogue magazine, Beyoncé continues her winning streak, further solidifying her power in the entertainment industry and pop culture at large.
“What do we want from the glamorous, powerful women we call divas or icons or cultural forces? We want them to want—and in our names get—everything they possibly can. Success in work and love. Sexual pleasure. Money and power. We want them to embody multiple fantasies. We want them to make us believe that exciting realities are just around the corner.” – Vogue
The September issue of Vogue is the biggest issue of the year for the publication and Beyoncé joins, Halle Berry (2010) and Naomi Campbell (1989) as one out of the three black females who have ever had the honour of gracing the cover of the September issue.
Last year Joan Smalls also made her debut on the September issue but she was not the only one. She shared the cover with her fellow supermodels Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss, still an achievement none the less.
It’s always empowering to see women doing it for themselves, paving the way of greatness and receiving recognition for their work and achievements. Beyoncé always manages to make the right moves, continuing to have us talking for all the right reasons. Now all I’m looking forward to is the music.
Vogue also shared a behind the scenes look into the cover and I must say, Beyoncé really knows how to work her body. She moves with such elegance and poise and just makes it all look so effortless. I sure would love a masterclass from her all right.
