Violett Beane Runs Into Season 2 Of "The Flash" As Jesse Quick

So much casting news regarding this CW superhero shows. The Flash in particular is expanding its cast list, quite a bit. Previously we learned that The Flash was getting another new villain for its 2nd season – Tokamak (Demore Barnes). And today, The Wrap reports that we are getting another new cast member with the addition of a new possible hero. Violett Beane (Flay, Slash) will play a version of Jesse Quick, who’s described as “a brilliant, quirky college student who gets caught up in Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) battle with Season 2’s big bad, Zoom, who has yet to be cast.”

In the comics, Quick is Jesse Chambers; daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. Along with her speed powers she also has her mother’s enhanced strength and stamina, but no one seems to know if that will carry over to the small screen. Jesse Quick, Jay Garret, Wally West…they’re going to have the whole Speedster family debuting in this 2nd season. Maybe not all as suited-up superheroes, but, in their original identities anyway. I have no idea what to expect from this show, but it looks like they’re not playing around.

Also, Malese Jow (The Vampire Diaries, Star-Crossed) will come back to the show as Linda Park. “Linda Park will return as Iris West’s [Candice Patton] friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger,” says executive producer Gabrielle Stanton.

The Flash returns Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
