But do not get it twisted The Force has never left, it’s always been with us.  The Original quintet with Charles “Mercury” Nelson , Antoine “T.C.D.” Lundy, DJ Dr. Rock all have unfortunately passed away but have left a legacy for  the surviving members Stevie D. Lundy, Rodney “Khalil” Lundy who are now joined by Damen Heyward.

The first song of the this project is by Big K.R.I.T. with ‘Gettin Mine’ ft. Rapsody and Heather Victoria produced by 9th Wonder. The beat is a smooth aah vocal of a girl and a soft drum to not go over K.R.I.T.’s southern accent. The song is about Big trying to reach for his road for riches and blow-up soon. Heather has a nice voice on the hook and it divides Rapsody. Rap has a good voice with a firey flow, and has some dope lyrics.

“I could dap up Shaq with a Triple Crown
Triple threat like Michael Crown
King and queen, no castle now”

The next song is Bun B’s ‘Check the Sign’. ft Big K.R.I.T. Big starts off with a chorus that repeats “You can’t walk a mile in mine, I can rap, superfly all the time,  Check the sign,” with their names. Bun comes in and he’s going alright but he doesn’t seem like the main guy of the song when K.R.I.T. outshines him. The production was alright and fit with Bun and Big’s southern style.

“I’ve got 12 for all of my fits, and gold all on my wrist
And rings all on my fist, like I was in championships”

The third song is Joe Conner with ‘Time’ and he starts by asking in the chorus with “Are you high?” The subject matter isn’t great and unoriginal. The relaxing beat went well with his voice but the again, the theme didn’t build any substance.

Raven Sorvino’s the next one up with ‘IKE turnUP’ ft. Morgan Smith, Pac Div, Bad Lucc & Problem. It come’s with this trippy instrumental and has Mibbs talking about doing drugs, choking and drinking. Morgan Smith divides Mibbs’ hook and verse with a 3 bar spiel. Mibbs had an alright verse but it wasn’t special and the subject matter is horrid. Raven come’s in and it doesn’t get better and the only thing she has is a mid-nice flow? Meh. Be Young of Pac Div is next in this song and he has some sort of effect on his voice, it’s an alright verse. Bad Lucc and Problem are both average as well. Hope this song isn’t one of the better on this..

Next up is Torae’s “What’s Love” ft. Pharoahe Monch. It has Torae questioning what’s love when it’s not giving something for him and his family. He then goes on to how Hip-Hop gives him love. Pharoahe  goes pretty good on the track and he’s not new to the game and it shows with his veteran feel.

“Kids at the table, can’t feed ‘em love for breakfast
Wife say she love a new pair of shoes and a necklace
So what’s a real nigga to do?”

Add-2 comes in to pull everyone in with ‘The Almighty Add-2′ and the instrumental is a strong horn type that goes well with the fast flow and soft voice of 2. It’s got a sense of urgency but it’s nice to sit back and listen to a god mix. Add knows how to use his vocals and can switch up a flow within seconds starting off slow but midway he speeds up like crazy.

“The sickest MC since Eazy-E”

‘No Agenda’ is the 7th song by KAZE. A jumbled electro-ish loop that has KAZE “Speaking from the soul,” and talking about issues in the world, gun control and the government. A nice switch-up of themes and variety for what was being played three songs ago.

“Racism wouldn’t even have a basis, if we learned about every bodies faces”

#8 is Emilio Rojas’ ‘Fire’ ft. Killa Kyleon & Doughbeezy. Talking about how they light the booth/drugs and every other place in the world goes on fire because they’re going hard. The beat sounds trap-like and has a Kanye West feel with it and it’s not a bad song the hook is repetitious but it’s not that bad.

“I’m a lit match on that gasoline
I’m burning kush it’s a forest fire
My cup dubbed but I’m passin lean”

K.R.I.T. make’s another appearance with another song titled ‘Reign On’. It’s relaxing with a clap beat and trumpets in the background. The song is about being a king, fly and shining when he’s on the scene. It’s a great confident boosting theme and Big has a great flow over every beat he’s on and K.R.I.T.’s looking like he’ll be the best rapper on the tape.

“Be at nightlife or barbeque, it dont matter
As long as we kick it and chill with much laughter”

Gucci Mane being the one at the double digits of #10 with ‘ForteBowie’. Starting off with this little hits, and then busts into a smooth and heart-breaker beat. Gucci starts talking about how he’ll never be the same with a girl leaving or something like that. It’s Gucci Mane, it doesn’t matter what he’s saying when the next stuff he says is not needing a bitch because he has hoes on him. So, I don’t know why he’s in a so RnB love-type mood. Why is this on this even.

After that atrocious sound of Gucci Mane, let’s hope Tuki Carter’s ‘Stunt’ can help anything. Nevermind, when the hook has “Get that money” in it. Damn, what is with this, he’s talking about blowing paper, popping bottles over a drum beat that kind of sounds ‘Check the Sign’. Come on now.

Joey Bada$$ is a guarantee for some decent tracks and he doesn’t disappoint with ‘Unorthodox’. The eighteen year old rapper goes over a sketchy and quiet beat with the unique voice and flow we all know him for. He has a free verse there’s no real theme but it feels like he’s pointing fingers at rappers and people who have gotten on Joey’s bad side. It’s one of the better songs on this mixtape and I enjoy it a lot, hope it doesn’t “Feel like this glory road is coming to an end,” though.
